Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Process Engineer to work on-site in Mc Calla, AL. This manufacturing role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing production and packaging processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, increase throughput, and maintain quality and safety standards. This is a full-time, contractor opportunity with estimated pay of $68,162 per year (estimated).


What You’ll Do

  • Develop technical mastery of core production and packaging processes to deliver measurable results.
  • Identify process improvements and partner with department managers and technicians to implement solutions.
  • Lead corrective actions and sustain improvements on the production floor.
  • Model and measure safety and quality expectations across plant operations.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and root-cause problem-solving tools (5 Whys, fishbone, FMEA) to reduce losses and improve yield.
  • Support new product startups and capital projects.
  • Drive material and packaging improvements (material changes, alternate materials qualification, cost savings).
  • Collect and analyze production data to design and validate process changes.
  • Coach and build capability in plant teams to improve throughput, yield and operational reliability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent engineering-focused experience).
  • Hands-on problem solving and troubleshooting experience to identify root cause.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; effective at working cross-functionally.
  • Learner mindset and willingness to adapt and grow.
  • Willingness to work off-shift hours (including nights, weekends, holidays) and to flow to the work as needed.
  • Comfortable working 100% on-site in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Internship, co-op, or prior engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using statistically based decision-making.
  • Project management experience.
  • Willingness to travel (typically 1–2 times per year) for Factory Acceptance Tests or vendor support.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This role operates in a manufacturing facility. Noise levels can be high and the position requires regular interaction with machinery and production teams.

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently; may push/pull carts and portable equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
