What You’ll Do

You will join a high-volume solar manufacturing team as a Process Engineer I to support process design, control, and continuous improvement. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing production issues, implementing process improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to increase throughput, quality, and equipment reliability.

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for solar components and related products
• Analyze production workflows to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, yield, and waste reduction
• Support testing, installation, startup, and troubleshooting of new manufacturing equipment and technologies
• Apply structured problem-solving (root-cause analysis, DMAIC) to resolve production issues
• Establish and maintain process controls and documentation (work instructions, SOPs)
• Investigate process deviations, implement corrective and preventive actions
• Monitor production, quality, and equipment performance metrics and produce clear reports
• Use data analysis (SPC, DOE) to identify trends and recommend changes
• Partner with maintenance, engineering, production, and suppliers to improve equipment reliability and material quality
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, cost reduction, and operational excellence
• Support production line audits, 5S, standardized work, and other operational excellence programs
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field
• 0–3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (internships or co-ops count)
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, process improvement principles, and industrial equipment
• Experience or coursework with mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation, controls, programming, or equipment troubleshooting
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across functions

Preferred

• Experience in solar, semiconductor, glass, or other high-volume manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with data analysis tools, statistical process control (SPC), DOE, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma & DMAIC
• Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, robotics, industrial controls, or automation systems
• Green Belt certification or progress toward certification

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $70,776.00 - $97,317.00 per year (full-time). Actual pay depends on job-related factors such as experience, location, and education.
