Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Process Engineer to support onsite manufacturing operations at its Canton, NY facility. This is a full-time, onsite position (Monday–Friday, standard hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with additional time as business needs require). The role supports advanced materials and glass manufacturing for semiconductor, aerospace, and defense applications. You will work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams in a union manufacturing environment to stabilize and continuously improve processes using data and sound engineering fundamentals.

What You’ll Do

• Support process improvement initiatives to improve yield, quality, cost, and overall manufacturing performance.
• Monitor process performance metrics and identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
• Use structured problem-solving methods to investigate process upsets and support corrective actions.
• Assist with new product/process launches, raw material changes, and equipment modifications.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to support action plans and technical recommendations.
• Partner with production and maintenance to troubleshoot daily manufacturing issues on the plant floor.
• Build process knowledge through hands-on floor support, data-driven analysis, and collaboration with experienced engineers.
• Provide technical support for projects aligned with plant and business objectives.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor of Science in ceramic, materials, chemical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience in a technical, manufacturing, internship, co-op, research, or process engineering environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical observations.
• Demonstrated ability or interest in working in a manufacturing/production-focused environment.
• Quick learner, adaptable to changing priorities, and effective in team settings.
• US Citizenship required. (To comply with government contract requirements at this location, offer recipients must provide documentation of U.S. citizen status.)

Desired

• Internship, co-op, research, or other hands-on experience in manufacturing, materials, or process development.
• Exposure to structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., DMAIC, Kepner-Tregoe, scientific method).
• Experience with data analysis to inform engineering decisions.
• Ability to work effectively with hourly production employees in a union setting.

Compensation & Location

• Salary range (full-time): $70,776 - $97,317 per year. Starting pay is determined by job-related factors such as location, experience, education, and market conditions.
• Location: Onsite at Canton, NY. Standard Monday–Friday schedule with occasional overtime as required. Limited travel (~5–10%) for meetings, training, or supplier/customer visits.
