Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Probation and Parole Officer to work from the Enid, OK office. This is a full-time, regular appointment responsible for community supervision of adult felony offenders, case management, evidence-based assessment and transition planning, treatment referral, and monitoring to reduce recidivism and enhance public safety.


Key responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of adult felons using evidence-based practices and motivational interviewing.
  • Complete criminogenic risk/needs assessments and design individualized transition plans.
  • Refer clients to appropriate treatment, re-entry resources, and employment assistance.
  • Monitor compliance with court and releasing-authority conditions; collect and document payments as required.
  • Prepare clear, timely reports and recommendations for releasing authorities.
  • Conduct investigations (pre-sentence, interstate, pre-pardon, pre-parole) and basic field investigations.
  • Conduct periodic drug and alcohol screening and collect specimens per policy.
  • Assist with security operations when needed; make arrests and transport offenders per agency policy.
  • Maintain accurate physical and electronic case records.
  • Provide courtroom testimony and liaise with community, families, and service agencies.

Levels & scope

Confidential Client hires at three levels. Candidates will be considered into the level matching their education and experience:

  • Level I — Entry level: performs basic supervision and entry-level duties.
  • Level II — Career level: full-performance duties, may provide training/guidance to others.
  • Level III — Specialist: subject-matter expert in evidence-based practice areas, manages complex cases and provides consultation/mentoring.

Required qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution including at least 24 semester hours in psychology, sociology, social work, criminology, education, criminal justice administration, penology or police science (per Title 57 O.S. §515).
  • Level II: bachelor’s degree + 2 years of relevant correctional social casework experience OR master’s degree (may substitute for one year of experience).
  • Level III: bachelor’s degree + 4 years relevant experience OR master’s degree (may substitute for one year of experience).
  • Applicants must upload transcripts as part of the application.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required by the role.
  • Must meet peace officer training and certification requirements per applicable Oklahoma statutes (including any psychological or physical testing required under Title 70 §3311).
  • Successful candidates will be subject to drug testing.

Eligibility & disqualifying conditions

Per statutory requirements, applicants are not eligible if they have been convicted of a nonviolent felony or a crime involving moral turpitude and have not been pardoned; convicted of certain felonies; required to register under the Sex Offenders Registration Act; convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence without pardon/expungement; subject to certain court restraining orders; or dishonorably discharged from the armed forces. Compensation

Compensation for this role is structured by level:

  • Level I — $48,044.52 per year
  • Level II — $50,834.80 per year
  • Level III — $54,700.80 per year

Exact placement will be based on level, experience, and applicable policy.


Preferred skills & competencies

  • Strong oral and written communication; courtroom testimony experience helpful.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based supervision practices, criminogenic needs, and transition planning.
  • Proficiency with case management systems and electronic recordkeeping.
  • Ability to manage substantial caseloads and maintain professional relationships with clients and community partners.
  • Training or experience in motivational interviewing, cognitive programming, or substance testing is a plus.

Location & work type

  • Work location: Enid, Oklahoma (in-person community supervision work with travel as required).
