Overview
Confidential Client is hiring a senior, highly technical Principal Enterprise Applications & Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and AI-enabled business solutions. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on architecture, development, integrations (including Salesforce), cloud-native services on Azure, and driving engineering standards across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Architect and deliver modern enterprise applications that increase operational efficiency and scalability.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, high-performance REST APIs, middleware, and event-driven integrations.
- Build integrations spanning Salesforce, lending systems, finance platforms, document management, and third-party services.
- Design cloud-native solutions on Azure (App Services, VMs, managed services) and leverage CI/CD, DevOps, and automated testing.
- Evaluate, prototype, and implement AI-enabled features, intelligent automation, and workflow improvements.
- Establish software architecture principles, coding standards, and best practices; perform architecture reviews and code reviews.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with offshore teams to raise delivery quality and engineering rigor.
- Work closely with Business Analysis, Product, Salesforce, Data & Analytics, Infrastructure, and PMO to deliver production-ready solutions.
- Research emerging technologies (Azure AI, OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and recommend improvements to the technology roadmap.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering, solution architecture, or systems integration.
- Expert-level development experience with Python, Java, and JavaScript/TypeScript; familiarity with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- Strong experience designing APIs, integration frameworks, event-driven architectures, and middleware.
- Hands-on experience architecting and deploying cloud-native applications on Azure (or equivalent AWS exposure).
- Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise systems via APIs and modern integration patterns.
- Strong SQL and relational database design skills.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing, and secure software development.
- Solid understanding of architecture principles around scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Proven ability to review code, mentor engineers, and define engineering standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in lending, mortgage, banking, financial services, commercial real estate, or investment management.
- Salesforce platform development or deep integration experience.
- Experience delivering AI-enabled business applications, intelligent automation, or Generative AI solutions.
- Familiarity with Azure AI, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar enterprise AI platforms.
- Track record leading enterprise modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience working with offshore development organizations.

Irvine, CA (on-site). Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $150,000 – $175,000 per year (reported by Confidential Client).
