Role overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Preschool Classroom Aid / CDA Specialist to support 1–2 early learning classrooms (infant/toddler through preschool). You will assist Lead Teacher(s) with daily classroom routines, curriculum implementation, meals, supervision, and other tasks that support a safe, nurturing Head Start / preschool environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support classroom routines and daily schedules for groups of preschool (14–20 children) and/or infant/toddler children (7–8 children)
- Assist Lead Teacher(s) with curriculum activities, lesson implementation, and age-appropriate learning experiences
- Prepare and assist with meals and feeding routines
- Supervise safe play, transitions, and nap/rest periods
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate with team members about student needs and classroom observations
- Follow program policies and work under the direction of the assigned Lead Teacher(s) and Education Services Professional
Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED completed or currently enrolled
- Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate OR commitment to obtain a CDA within 1 year of hire (employer-paid)
- Entry-level role; previous babysitting or childcare experience preferred
- Basic computer skills (email, word processing, internet navigation)
- Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged — English/Spanish and/or Portuguese skills preferred
- Ability to pass recent fit-for-duty health exam and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Early Childhood Education coursework or an Associate/Bachelor degree is a plus but not required
Schedule, classification & pay
- Classification: Part-Time (Hourly). Position may also be available Full-Time (1.0 FTE) depending on assignment.
- Typical schedules: 9:45 AM–5:45 PM or 2:45 PM–5:45 PM, Monday–Friday
- Status: Non-exempt
- Compensation: $16.94 per hour
