What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a part-time Preschool Assistant Teacher to support a play-based Tiny Two's classroom. This role partners with the Lead Teacher and Manager of Early Childhood Services to deliver a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate program for 2-year-olds.

• Support daily classroom routines, lesson plans, and play-based learning activities
• Assist with classroom management and supervision of children during activities and transitions
• Help develop daily schedules and learning outcomes; monitor attendance and developmental progress
• Communicate clearly and professionally with parents and staff about child progress and daily activities
• Prepare classroom materials, set up learning centers, and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and contribute to program promotion and curriculum resource procurement
• Follow safety guidelines and policies; provide quality customer service to families
• This is an at-will position

Schedule & Location

• Class location: Spring Avenue Recreation Center, Glen Ellyn, IL
• Class time: Monday–Thursday, 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
• Estimated hours: Approximately 10 hours/week (includes prep and clean-up). School-year role (August–May) with required prep time before the school year.

• Pay: $17–$19 per hour (part-time)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age: 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Previous teaching or classroom experience required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with parents, children, and staff
• Friendly, creative, and motivated to engage young children in play-based learning
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment under pressure
• Strong organizational skills and basic computer/keyboard skills preferred
• First Aid and CPR certification required (will be provided if not current)
