Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Presales Systems Engineer to join a Center of Excellence engineering team that supports channel partners in designing mission‑critical communications solutions. You will help architect proposals, create equipment lists and system diagrams, run coverage analyses, and support proposal reviews from award through system acceptance.


What You’ll Do

You will work alongside senior engineers and cross‑functional teams to design and document communications systems that meet customer requirements.

  • Develop equipment lists and detailed system descriptions (including diagrams)
  • Design and analyze radio coverage (RF) and perform coverage predictions
  • Calculate power, cabling and IP network requirements
  • Support traffic/capacity modeling and related toolsets
  • Participate in proposal reviews and contract discussions
  • Translate customer requirements into feasible technical solutions
  • Maintain and improve internal tools to speed proposal generation

Who You Are / Qualifications

Minimum requirements — we encourage new grads and early-career engineers to apply.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related field — OR 1+ year experience in systems engineering or wireless communications
  • Basic knowledge of wireless communications fundamentals (APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3G/4G)
  • General understanding of IP networking architecture, protocols and security
  • Familiarity with RF coverage prediction, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms). Experience with Google Scripts is a plus.
  • Strong problem‑solving, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel (~10%)

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Coursework or hands-on experience with RF planning tools or coverage simulation
  • Internship or project experience in public safety or private radio systems
  • Exposure to proposal generation or technical sales support

Compensation & Benefits

  • Target base salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 USD (pay within range depends on experience and skills)
