Position Overview
This is a Full‑Time Premium Auditor Associate role supporting a confidential client in the Accounting & Finance industry. The role focuses on conducting insurance premium audits (Workers’ Compensation and other commercial lines), reviewing payroll and accounting records, interviewing policyholders, and processing audit adjustments in the company database.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct Workers’ Compensation and other commercial-lines premium audits (General Liability, Professional Liability/Errors & Omissions).
- Request and review payroll, tax filings, and accounting records to determine actual exposure and correct premium bases.
- Obtain and document business operations and employee job duties via phone and email interviews.
- Identify appropriate classification codes and recommend class code changes per state manuals.
- Apply state manual rules to adjust premiums (officer wage adjustments, overtime credits, tip credits, etc.).
- Complete audit worksheets (Excel templates) and process audit findings in the audit system.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve audit disputes or billing questions.
- Maintain accurate audit documentation and apply strong attention to detail when inputting exposures.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; aptitude to learn proprietary systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong critical thinking, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply state manual rules and regulatory guidance.
- Self-motivated with a desire for continuous learning.
Preferred (not required):
- Prior experience with Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, or Professional Liability insurance audits or commercial lines underwriting.
Skills & Tools
- Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, templates)
- Phone-based customer interviews and written correspondence
- Basic accounting and payroll record interpretation
- Familiarity with insurance class codes and state manual rules (learned on the job is acceptable)
Compensation & Employment Details
- Employment type: FULL_TIME
- Location: Omaha, NE (onsite or as specified by our confidential client)
- Pay disclosure (good-faith estimate from source):
- Entry-level starting rate: $20.52 per hour.
- Representative estimated annual midpoint for this role: $83,686 per year.
- Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, experience, and other factors permitted by law.
