What You’ll Do

This role performs premium audits to validate and adjust insurance premiums across lines such as Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions). Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Review and analyze payroll, tax filings, and accounting records to determine insured exposures
  • Interview policyholders by phone/email to confirm business operations and employee job duties
  • Verify and recommend appropriate insurance classification codes per state manuals
  • Apply state manual rules and adjustments (e.g., officer wage adjustments, overtime credits, tip credits)
  • Complete audit worksheets (Excel templates) and enter audited exposures into the company database
  • Provide responsive, professional customer service throughout the audit process
  • Investigate and resolve customer disputes related to audit results

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with ability to learn other software tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Critical thinking, good judgment, and problem-solving ability
  • Strong reading comprehension to interpret and apply manual rules
  • Self-motivated with effective time-management and organizational skills
  • Desire for continuous learning

Preferred

  • Prior experience with Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and/or Professional Liability audits or commercial P&C insurance

Work Location & Schedule

  • This is a hybrid role based in Castle Hills, TX and requires onsite work two days per week in the Castle Hills office. Candidates must be able to commute to the Castle Hills, TX location as scheduled.

Compensation & Benefits

In accordance with the source posting, the entry-level rate for this position starts at $20.52 per hour. Higher pay may be available for candidates with relevant commercial property & casualty underwriting or audit experience.
