What You’ll Do

The Predictive Data Analyst will support program and business stakeholders by turning data into actionable insight. You will lead predictive-analytics projects end-to-end — from requirements and exploratory analysis through model development, dashboarding, and support for deployment and interpretation. This role acts as a technical SME for cross-agency justice-involved datasets and managed care reporting, and works closely with IT/data engineering and program teams to ensure analyses drive decisions and program improvements.

  • Define data needs with stakeholders and translate business questions into analytics objectives
  • Build, validate, and interpret predictive models and statistical analyses
  • Extract, clean, merge and quality-check data from client-centric relational databases using SQL and statistical programming
  • Design and build reports and dashboards (Tableau or similar) and develop API reporting for automated delivery
  • Consult on technical feasibility for project intake and lead analytics or dashboard tasks when required
  • Document business logic, query design, report definitions, and technical decisions
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum rituals (daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning) and drive QA for deliverables
  • Collaborate with data engineering to support data pipelines and maintain reproducible analysis workflows

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum four (4) years of professional experience planning, designing, conducting, and evaluating research or analytics projects that apply machine learning, predictive analytics, and hypothesis-driven analysis to complex datasets
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working directly with relational databases
  • Hands-on experience in statistical programming and data manipulation (e.g., Python, R, or similar)
  • Experience developing dashboards and reports (Tableau preferred) and familiarity with API-based reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical tasks and make sound judgments when the path forward is not obvious
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong customer-service orientation
  • Experience working with justice-involved datasets or managed care reporting strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working in Agile team environments and producing clear technical documentation

Experience & Education

  • Experience: Four (4) years of relevant experience (see above)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Psychology, Public Health, or a related applied research field that includes at least 12 semester (or 18 quarter) units in data science, predictive analytics, quantitative research methods, or statistics

  • Duration: 12 months (contract) with possible extension
  • Work model: Onsite
