What You’ll Do
- Develop, test, and validate propulsion-system calibration processes for ICE, hybrid (HEV/XHEV) and BEV powertrains to meet range, fuel-economy and drivability targets.
- Create and refine calibration methodology for both virtual and physical test resources (MIL, HIL, engine dynos, propulsion-system benches).
- Build and validate virtual models; correlate vehicle, dyno and virtual datasets to confirm feature behavior and performance.
- Work closely with Center of Excellence (CoE), Virtual and HIL teams to define feature functionality and calibration best practices.
- Provide practical guidance to calibrators and test engineers to ensure system-level performance objectives are achieved.
- Use data-acquisition and analysis tools (dSPACE Automation / ControlDesk, ETAS INCA, MDA, etc.) to design tests and interpret results.
- Contribute to process improvements that increase calibration efficiency, quality and repeatability.
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s preferred.
- Experience: Targeted at early-career engineers (0–3 years) with laboratory or internship experience in powertrain systems. Candidates with stronger hands‑on dyno/calibration backgrounds are also considered.
- Lab skills: Familiarity with engine dynos, propulsion-system benches or electric-motor dynos and experience capturing and analyzing test data.
- Controls & simulation: Practical exposure to MATLAB/Simulink and basic control concepts (PID). Experience with MIL/SIL/HIL workflows is highly desirable.
- Tool experience: Exposure to dSPACE HIL environments and tools (ControlDesk/Automation), ETAS INCA, MDA or similar calibration/data-analysis platforms.
- Communication: Strong oral and written communication; ability to collaborate in cross-functional, lab-based teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
- Prior hands-on dyno-lab calibration experience and history of developing calibration testing/verification methodology.
- Experience supporting dSPACE or NI HIL validation and working with automation/control desk software.
- Demonstrated ability to translate virtual test results to hardware test plans and to correlate across datasets.
