What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to support transmission and system analysis work in Bloomington, MN. In this role you will perform power system studies, prepare technical deliverables, and collaborate with project teams.

  • Perform transmission and system analysis studies (transmission interconnection, reactive power compensation, short‑circuit/fault analysis, circuit breaker rating analysis).
  • Build and validate system models and run studies using industry system‑modeling software and tools.
  • Prepare clear technical reports, design calculations, and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary project teams; support project schedules and budgets.
  • Use analytics and scripting (e.g., Python) to streamline study workflows and data processing.
  • Mentor entry‑level engineers and interns as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience; 1–4 years preferred in transmission/system analysis.
  • Hands‑on experience performing transmission interconnection studies, reactive power compensation studies, short‑circuit/fault analysis, and circuit breaker rating analysis.
  • Experience using power system modeling software and familiarity with common industry workflows for transmission design studies.
  • Familiarity with scripting/analytics (Python or similar).
  • Engineering‑in‑Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available for this posting.
