What You’ll Do

This is a hands-on Power BI Developer / Data Analyst role supporting a confidential client. You will turn raw data into clear, actionable business insights using Power BI, SQL, and DAX, and help deliver enterprise-grade reporting solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform.

• Build, maintain, and optimize Power BI reports and multi-page dashboards.
• Clean, transform, and shape datasets using Power Query and SQL for reliable reporting.
• Design and maintain relational data models (stars/snowflakes) with correct fact and dimension tables.
• Write robust DAX measures, calculated columns, and complex filters for analytical metrics.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, Trainers, and Production Support to translate requirements into technical report specs and KPIs.
• Integrate Power BI solutions with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Pages where appropriate.
• Support deployment and documentation; troubleshoot performance and data-quality issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (required).
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or report development.
• Proven experience working with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Strong SQL skills for querying and preparing data.
• Demonstrated ability to craft DAX expressions for business metrics.
• Familiarity with Power Query (M) for ETL tasks.
• Strong attention to data quality, model performance, and visualization best practices.

• Experience customizing Power Pages (forms, lists, permissions, authentication).
• HTML/CSS/JavaScript experience for Power Pages UI enhancements.
• Familiarity with Azure AD authentication and table permissions / web roles.
• Knowledge of Python or R for advanced data manipulation (supplementary).

Location & Work Model

• Authoritative work location: Hartford, CT (local candidates preferred).
• Work model: Hybrid — this role requires occasional onsite presence at 410 Capitol Avenue, Hartford. Only candidates located near Hartford, CT will be considered for onsite requirements.

Compensation & Duration

• Employment type: Temporary, Full-Time.
• Estimated duration: ~2 months (may be shortened or extended per client needs).
• Pay range: $65.00 – $70.00 per hour (hourly, USD). C2C is not available.
