What You’ll Do

Join a collaborative MEP engineering team as a Plumbing Designer focusing on plumbing system design for commercial and institutional projects. You will work under licensed engineers and be responsible for producing drawings, performing calculations, coordinating across disciplines, and supporting construction administration.

  • Assist in the design of plumbing systems for commercial and institutional projects.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Perform plumbing calculations, code reviews, and field observations to ensure design compliance with local and national codes.
  • Coordinate design intent and constructability with architects, structural/mechanical/electrical engineers, contractors, and clients.
  • Support project planning, construction administration, submittal review, and site inspections for assigned projects.
  • Deliver practical engineering solutions while managing deadlines and project priorities.

What We’re Looking For

The Confidential Client seeks a motivated early-career plumbing/MEP designer who can contribute technically and grow into increased project responsibility.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or successful completion of the FE exam, or actively pursuing certification.
  • Approximately 3+ years of engineering experience in plumbing or MEP design preferred (entry-level candidates with strong skills will be considered).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for producing construction documents and models.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to coordinate with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with solid problem-solving and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing plumbing calculations and preparing code-compliant design documentation.
  • Familiarity with plumbing fixtures, drainage, stormwater, domestic water systems, and HVAC interfaces.
  • Prior exposure to construction administration and field observations.
  • Experience on commercial project types (office, retail, institutional) is a plus.

Compensation & Location

  • Estimated base: $64,520 per year (estimated).
  • Employment type: Full-time.
  • Location: Balcones / Austin, TX — on-site with occasional visits to project sites as required.
