Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Platform Service Engineer to join their global datacenter and cloud infrastructure team. This role focuses on operating and improving core infrastructure that supports large-scale online services. The position offers a flexible work arrangement with the option for partial remote work from home.

• Typical base pay range (U.S.): USD $85,400 - $168,100 per year

What You’ll Do

Confidential Client’s Platform Service Engineering team delivers and operates the physical and virtual infrastructure that powers critical cloud services. You will:

• Support hybrid CI/CD DevOps virtualized infrastructure spanning Windows and Linux servers, Hyper-V, Active Directory, DNS, and related services
• Maintain and improve automated OS installation and configuration at scale
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain bare-metal enterprise server hardware (RAID, IPMI, firmware/driver updates)
• Monitor service levels and KPIs, ensuring 24/7/365 operational readiness and continuous optimization
• Transition manual operational processes into automated workflows using DevOps principles
• Collaborate with global teams to deliver projects and produce rigorous documentation
• Share responsibility for securing and supporting critical datacenter infrastructure and related programs

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree or trade certification in Computer Science, IT, Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field — OR equivalent experience
• Ability to meet client and/or government security screening requirements, including periodic cloud background checks

Preferred

• Internship or practical experience in software, network, service, or systems engineering
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale cloud or distributed systems
• Working knowledge of Windows Server and UNIX/Linux systems, automated installation, file systems, monitoring, user administration, and package/process management
• Experience with configuration management tools (PowerShell DSC, Puppet, Chef, or similar)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code scripting (PowerShell or Python), Hyper-V, Azure Arc, Kerberos, Active Directory, DNS, data protection technologies, and service monitoring/alerting
