What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Plant Shared Services Leader to support site facilities and equipment improvements at a manufacturing/distribution center in Morris, IL. This entry-level engineering role focuses on identifying losses, improving standards, and enabling reliable equipment operation across the site.
- Identify, prioritize, analyze, and eliminate losses and inefficiencies in facilities and equipment.
- Lead delivery, start-up and handover of new equipment, initiatives, and small capital projects.
- Work with cross-functional teams, subject-matter experts, and other sites to design robust solutions.
- Develop training, coaching, and capability-building programs for technicians and operations staff.
- Create and maintain standards and systems to meet production and quality performance targets.
- Support and troubleshoot HVAC, fire protection, building maintenance systems and other site infrastructure.
- Provide hands-on support, root-cause problem solving, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
Responsibilities
- Drive day-to-day facilities support while building long-term capability and standards.
- Partner with maintenance technicians and operations to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Document procedures, standard work, and lessons learned for repeatable solutions.
- Facilitate equipment startups and transitions to steady-state operations.
- Communicate progress and risks to site leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred (entry-level candidates with strong internship/co-op or practical experience are encouraged).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on production/distribution environment.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, time management, and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel up to ~10% as required.
- Motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn technical and process skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay / salary range: $85,000 – $122,000 per year (range provided by the hiring client for the Morris, IL location).
