Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Planning Associate to support production scheduling and materials planning in Buckingham, TX. This role provides hands-on experience with Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) processes, ERP data entry, and day-to-day coordination between supply chain, purchasing and operations teams.
What You’ll Do
- Provide entry-level support for planning production schedules for designated product(s).
- Consolidate customer forecasts and perform MPS/MRP inputting and validation.
- Manage scheduling parameters and prepare routine reports for assigned products.
- Align customer purchase orders with production schedules and help resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with End-of-Life (EOL) analysis and development of action plans.
- Coordinate shop order releases and materials kitting requirements.
- Identify parts shortages and work with stakeholders to expedite material or approve substitutions.
- Track shipments against commit dates and notify planners of potential issues.
- Process and approve Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) as required.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of relevant experience; this is an entry-level role.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic knowledge of production planning fundamentals, scheduling, and manufacturing control systems.
- Familiarity with purchasing principles is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment with sustained computer use.
Skills & Competencies
- Working knowledge of MPS and MRP concepts.
- Basic ERP and office application skills; ability to learn multiple internal systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry (10-key skills helpful).
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines.
- Good verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
- Problem-solving aptitude and willingness to escalate when appropriate.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Normal office environment; may require extended periods of sitting and visual concentration on computer screens and numeric data.
- Repetitive manual movements (data entry, mouse use, calculator) are frequently required.
Compensation & Employment Type
- Estimated base salary: $64,733 per year (estimated).
