What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Planner I to support municipal and land‑development projects. You will assist project teams with technical review, research, and presentation materials across planning, architectural, and aviation practice areas.

  • Assist with reviewing development proposals and plans for conformance with municipal codes, comprehensive plans, studies, and regulations.
  • Analyze municipal regulations and prepare land use application materials (special permits, variances, site plan reviews, historic/architectural reviews).
  • Support SEQRA-related technical research, data analysis, and preparation of required forms and documentation.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and submit project submittal packages for zoning and site development review, including fee calculations.
  • Create digital and print presentation materials and communication graphics.
  • Assist with preparation of reports, forms, and grant applications.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Historic Preservation, Geography, or related field.
  • 0–2 years practical experience with site planning, zoning codes, architectural design review, civil engineering, or land use board processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated technical writing ability.
  • Analytical, research, and creative problem‑solving skills.
  • Technical aptitude for responding to municipal review comments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with communication graphics and web platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of GIS is a plus but not required.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in team settings.

Compensation & Logistics

  • Estimated salary: $97,571 per year (estimated).
