What You’ll Do
The Picking Platform Process Engineer will optimize manufacturing and picking platform processes to improve throughput, reduce cost, and maintain product quality. You will work as part of the line triad to support daily execution, continuous improvement, and new product introductions while leveraging digital analytics and IWS tools.
- Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing and picking platform processes and optimize existing ones to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Analyze process performance, identify bottlenecks, and lead corrective actions to improve operational efficiency and throughput.
- Develop and execute process validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) and ensure compliance with internal procedures and industry standards.
- Monitor process performance using statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and other data-analysis tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, quality assurance, maintenance) to support new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare process documentation, SOPs, technical reports, and operator training materials.
- Evaluate and recommend equipment, automation, and materials to enhance process capabilities and product performance.
- Lead root cause analysis for process failures and implement preventive measures that follow Lean/Six Sigma principles.
- Support daily direction setting, run-to-target execution, and data-driven performance reviews.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment (consumer goods, distribution, or similar preferred).
- Hands-on knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency with process simulation and data analysis tools.
- Experience using statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE).
- Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical troubleshooting approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations relevant to manufacturing operations.
Preferred (if applicable)
- Experience with IWS or similar integrated work systems.
- Familiarity with picking/distribution platform operations and automation.
- Certification in Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or Lean training.
