What You’ll Do

Provide patient-centered physical therapy services for inpatient and outpatient referrals. You will assess functional and cognitive status, develop measurable treatment plans with patient/family participation, implement evidence-based interventions, document progress, and support timely discharge planning. You will also support clinical program development, departmental operations, and training/supervision of students, assistants, and volunteers on behalf of the confidential client.


Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations considering diagnosis- and age-specific needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals; involve patient and family.
  • Document initial evaluations, daily/weekly progress notes, discharge summaries, and other clinical notes per policy.
  • Participate in patient care conferences, family conferences, in-services, and interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Provide patient/family education, counseling, and coordinate discharge planning.
  • Assist with coordination and supervision of PT and PTA student programs and volunteer programs.
  • Support orientation of new staff, scheduling to ensure quality coverage, and supervision as needed.
  • Contribute to performance improvement activities and departmental productivity initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with referral sources and community agencies for appropriate referrals.
  • Identify and promote educational and research opportunities for self, department, and community.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the confidential client.

Qualifications

  • Degree: Bachelor's, Master’s, or entry-level Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Licensed Physical Therapist by the Texas Executive Council of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners (required).
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Experience: No prior experience required; clinical experience is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills, ability to create measurable treatment goals, excellent communication and patient-education abilities, and ability to supervise/support students and assistants.
  • Equipment/Modalities: Knowledge of all modalities/equipment used by physical therapists as outlined by the Texas Executive Council.

Schedule & Employment Type

  • Work schedule: PRN — Per Diem / As-Needed (flexible scheduling; shifts scheduled based on departmental needs).
  • Employment type: Temporary / Per Diem as arranged with the confidential client.
  • Location: White Oak, TX (on-site).
  • Estimated salary: $50,944 per year (estimated).
