Role Overview
Confidential Client seeks an entry-level Physical Therapist (PT) to join an acute care team in Grand Central, NY. This is a full-time, day-shift position (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM) that offers exposure to inpatient, outpatient, and acute care rotations. The role is ideal for newly licensed PTs or clinicians with up to one year of experience who want hands-on clinical development in a multidisciplinary hospital setting.
What You’ll Do
- Perform initial examinations and re-examinations; establish goals and implement individualized treatment plans for a diverse patient population.
- Provide physical therapy interventions across acute and inpatient settings and attend assigned outpatient clinics.
- Document all assessments, progress notes, monthly summaries, and discharge summaries in a timely and compliant manner.
- Coordinate care and communicate recommendations with interdisciplinary team members.
- Train patients, families, caregivers, and medical staff on therapeutic programs and home exercise plans.
- Recommend durable medical equipment and prepare letters of medical necessity as needed.
- Participate in discharge planning and make appropriate follow-up recommendations.
- Attend rounds, in-services, conferences, and department meetings.
- Maintain therapy attendance records, charges, and clinical statistics.
- Supervise and mentor Rehab Patient Care Associates, volunteers, and students when appropriate.
- Cover additional patient assignments as staffing needs dictate.
Qualifications
- Current New York State Physical Therapy license (DOH/Office of Professions).
- 0–1 year of clinical experience; entry-level clinicians are encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred.
- Current membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is required.
- Strong documentation, clinical reasoning, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team and adapt to rotating clinical settings.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly salary range: $42.82 – $47.47 per hour (NYC pay-transparency compliant). Actual pay depends on experience, education, and operational need.
