What You’ll Do

Provides Physical Therapy services for referred patients (inpatient and outpatient) including assessment, individualized treatment-plan development and implementation, follow-up, and discharge planning.

  • Performs comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to determine patients' physical and cognitive status across age groups.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and documented methods to achieve them.
  • Completes required documentation: initial evaluations, daily/weekly progress notes, discharge summaries, and other clinical notations.
  • Participates in patient care and family conferences, departmental meetings, and in-service education.
  • Counsels patients, families, and caregivers on evaluation findings, care plans, and home education.
  • Initiates and completes timely discharge planning and patient education.
  • Assists with coordination and supervision of Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant student programs and the volunteer program.
  • Supervises Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants, Rehab Technicians, and Volunteers as needed.
  • Supports department operations including orientation of new staff, patient scheduling, maintaining productivity standards, and participating in performance improvement activities.
  • Adapts assessment and treatment to meet age-specific, cultural, and developmental needs.
  • Maintains professional relationships with medical staff, physicians, and referral sources.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or entry-level Doctorate of Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Texas Executive Council of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners (Texas license required).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Knowledge of modalities and equipment used by Physical Therapists as outlined by the Executive Council of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners.
  • Strong clinical documentation, communication, and patient-education skills.
  • Experience or willingness to supervise PTAs, rehab technicians, students, and volunteers.

Schedule & Employment Type

  • Work schedule: PRN (Per diem / As-needed).
  • Employment type: Per-diem / contract-style (PRN).
  • Estimated (Adzuna) pay reference: $69,165 per year — estimated. (Do not treat this as a guaranteed salary; actual pay may vary.)

  • Olmos Park, TX (must be able to hold/maintain Texas PT licensure).
