Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality care in the Healthcare & Nursing sector in Montbello, CO (Aurora area). This role supports a range of patient populations and may include inpatient and/or outpatient coverage depending on service needs. Schedule may be part-time (up to ~3 days per week) or full-time depending on hiring needs.

What You’ll Do

• Independently evaluate and treat patients across musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiovascular/pulmonary, and integumentary systems.
• Make autonomous clinical decisions in a Direct Access environment, including initial evaluation, diagnosis (within PT scope), prognosis, and development of treatment plans.
• Select and interpret appropriate tests and measures; integrate findings into individualized plans of care.
• Set clinically appropriate treatment goals in collaboration with patients to optimize outcomes and functional independence.
• Provide clinical oversight and mentorship to Physical Therapy Assistants and students on clinical affiliations (DPT and PTA programs).
• Refer patients to other providers when clinically indicated and coordinate multidisciplinary care.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the education/experience options below and satisfy licensure and legal hiring requirements:

• Education options (meet at least one):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy plus five (5) years of progressively independent PT experience; or
  • Master’s degree in Physical Therapy plus two (2) years of progressively independent PT experience; or
  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT).
• Must be a graduate of a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program or meet the foreign-credential equivalency with an unrestricted U.S. license.
• Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• English language proficiency sufficient for safe, effective practice.
• U.S. citizenship requirement (per Confidential Client policy for this posting) — applicants must be U.S. citizens unless an exception applies.
• For GS-12 / full-performance level: at least one year of experience equivalent to GS-11, a valid unrestricted state license, and demonstrated KSAs (see below).

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (typical expectations for full-performance level)

• Ability to make autonomous clinical decisions in Direct Access settings.
• Skill performing comprehensive examinations and evaluations for a broad patient population.
• Ability to interpret examination findings and select appropriate tests and measures.
• Ability to establish a PT diagnosis and identify appropriate rehabilitation interventions, including referrals.
• Ability to determine prognosis and set patient-centered goals.
• Ability to provide clinical oversight of PTAs and students.

Preferred Experience

• Experience providing services across a broad range of diagnoses.
• Flexibility to cover inpatient and/or outpatient settings based on service needs.
• Prior experience supervising PTAs/students and teaching in clinical education settings.

Additional Information & Appointment Details

• Non-licensed PTs who otherwise meet basic requirements may be given a temporary appointment (e.g., graduate PT) at the entry grade for a limited period (per Confidential Client policy). Failure to obtain licensure within the allowed timeframe may be grounds for termination of the temporary appointment.
• Candidates with previous license revocations or surrender under disciplinary circumstances may be ineligible unless the license has been fully restored.
