What You’ll Do

Join a confidential client’s inpatient therapy team in Illinois as a Physical Therapist I. You will evaluate, treat, and document patient progress across the lifespan; develop individualized treatment plans; and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to support safe discharge and optimal functional outcomes.

  • Evaluate patients using standardized tests and measurements to determine physical therapy problems and expected discharge environment
  • Develop and implement PT interventions based on examination, patient/family goals, and referring practitioner guidance
  • Deliver competent physical therapy services using appropriate advanced techniques and procedures for inpatient populations
  • Instruct patients and families on home programs and safe activity progression
  • Coordinate care and communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other disciplines to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate written and verbal records, especially for handoffs and planned absences

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program (minimum Bachelor’s degree)
  • Licensed, or eligible for licensure, in Illinois (notification of eligibility for examination acceptable)
  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary inpatient setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred
  • Experience or interest in developing advanced clinical skills in a focused area of practice
  • Age-specific care knowledge (neonatal, pediatric, adult, geriatric) appropriate to the patient population
  • Basic computer skills to access electronic patient records
  • Strong interpersonal skills for positive interactions with patients, families, and care teams
