What You’ll Do

As a Full‑Time Physical Therapist for our confidential client in Hoonah, AK, you will:

  • Evaluate patients’ mobility, functional status, balance, strength, and pain using evidence‑based assessment tools.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and progress milestones.
  • Deliver hands‑on therapy and therapeutic exercise for inpatient and outpatient populations across the care continuum.
  • Document care accurately and timely in electronic medical records and comply with Medicare, Medicaid, and third‑party billing/documentation standards.
  • Provide patient and family education, participate in discharge planning, and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Supervise and mentor Physical Therapist Assistants, students, and other designated staff as needed.
  • Maintain clinical competency and complete required certifications and training within stated timeframes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Entry‑level qualifying Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program — OR graduation from an APTA‑approved master’s or bachelor’s program plus 2 years of documented experience and continuing education demonstrating equivalent knowledge to a Doctorate.
  • Active Physical Therapist license in the state required at start (must be eligible and able to obtain/maintain Alaska licensure).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Clinical competency achieved within 3 months of hire and maintained every three years.
  • High‑risk competency achieved within 3 months of hire and maintained every three years.
  • Experience with inpatient and outpatient populations preferred.
  • Ability to use electronic medical records and follow payer documentation requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and patient education.
