Role Overview
Our confidential client is hiring an Inpatient Physical Therapist to provide evidence-based rehabilitation care within an acute inpatient setting in Hamilton, NJ. This position supports patient recovery, mobility, pain relief, and safe discharge planning while collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team.
What You’ll Do
- Evaluate and re-evaluate patients using standardized assessment tools to identify functional limitations and establish individualized goals.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans and administer appropriate physical therapy interventions.
- Monitor and document patient progress, update care plans, and communicate with referring physicians and the healthcare team.
- Create safe discharge plans, including home exercise programs, caregiver education, and equipment recommendations.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete required billing records.
- Supervise and collaborate with Physical Therapist Assistants to ensure compliance with professional standards and quality of care.
- Mentor and provide clinical instruction to student clinicians and interns.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to coordinated patient-centered care.
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program; a minimum bachelor’s degree required (DPT preferred).
- Current, unrestricted New Jersey Physical Therapist license.
- BLS Provider Certification through the American Heart Association.
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy evaluation techniques, treatment planning, documentation standards, and patient/family education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize a diverse patient caseload, and maintain professional documentation.
- Willingness to work weekends as required by the schedule.
Preferred Experience
- Prior inpatient clinical experience preferred. New graduates with strong clinical internships are encouraged to apply.
- Experience supervising PTAs or mentoring students is a plus.
Employment Type & Compensation
- Employment type: Contract / Full-time (hourly).
- Pay range (for work performed in New Jersey): $70.95 per hour (anticipated rate). Final compensation will depend on education, skills, and relevant experience.
- Schedule: Day shift with weekend availability required.
