Position overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Consultant to join a hybrid consulting team based in Phoenix, AZ. This role delivers internal audit, risk, controls, and technology advisory services to clients across industries. You will work on client engagements that use data analysis, AI-enabled tools, and modern analytics to improve controls and deliver actionable insights.


What You’ll Do

  • Work on internal audit and financial advisory client engagements, supporting risk assessments, control testing, documentation, and reporting.
  • Assist on projects in one of two capability areas:
    • Business Process Audit and Advisory — evaluate and improve business processes, controls, compliance, governance, and operational efficiency.
    • Technology Audit and Advisory — assess technology risks (cybersecurity, data governance, cloud, software development controls) and related controls.
  • Use data interrogation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to extract insights and support audit conclusions.
  • Analyze client data (various formats), prepare observations, and communicate findings to team members and clients.
  • Contribute to project deliverables, manage time and priorities, and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Participate in onboarding and training programs to develop consulting and technical skills.
  • Collaborate with project teams, mentors, and talent managers to support career growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated proficiency applying AI tools to analytical and research tasks (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GenAI).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking, creativity, and ability to apply judgment across client engagements.
  • Technical proficiency aligned with the assigned capability area.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Interest or entry-level experience with analytics/automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, MS Power Platform, Python) and software development fundamentals.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range (annual): $72,000 - $89,000.
  • Bonus target: $2,000 (where applicable).
  • Total cash range estimate: $72,000 - $89,000.
  • Benefits (where eligible) may include medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life and disability insurance, parental leave, adoption/fertility assistance, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off (Choice Time Off), and paid holidays.
  • Specific benefits and plan details are governed by plan documents and may vary by location.

Location & Work Model

  • Role is based in Phoenix, AZ with a hybrid work model (combination of in-office, client-site, and remote work as project needs require).
  • Local and occasional out-of-state travel may be required depending on client engagements.
