What You’ll Do

Prepares and dispenses medications for inpatients and outpatients according to prescriber orders while maintaining safety, accuracy, and professional patient interactions.

• Prepare, label, and dispense inpatient and outpatient medications per licensed prescriber orders
• Supervise or perform compounding (bulk/extemporaneous) and ensure accurate manufacturing records and controls
• Manage controlled substances: maintain records, control floor stock, and handle returns/disposal according to policy
• Perform and direct prepacking activities and distribution of pharmacy supplies to clinical departments
• Maintain medication and supply inventory; ensure equipment and utensils are serviceable
• Provide patient education on medication use for outpatients; answer professional and patient medication inquiries
• Participate in departmental Performance/Quality Improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams
• Support and assist pharmacy leadership with personnel-related functions and in-service training

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional, courteous interactions with patients, visitors, and staff to support a positive public perception of Confidential Client
• Comply with institutional policies including safety, infection control, risk management, incident reporting, and patient service standards
• Inspect medicinal supplies routinely and document findings
• Assist with onboarding, training, and performance activities as requested by Pharmacy Supervisor or Associate Directors

Qualifications

• New York State Pharmacist License required
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or related field required
• Minimum: One (1) year of pharmacy experience (recognized internship may satisfy experience requirement)
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately with controlled substances and maintain required records
• Strong communication skills for patient instruction and cross-disciplinary coordination
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to quality improvement

Preferred / Valuable Experience

• Hospital or health-system pharmacy experience (inpatient and outpatient)
• Experience with compounding workflows and pharmacy manufacturing documentation
• Prior participation in CQI or quality/safety initiatives

• Estimated pay: $243,220 per year (estimated)
• License requirement: New York State Pharmacist License
