Confidential Client is hiring entry-level Petroleum Engineers for Midland, TX. This role is designed for recent graduates or students in their final year who want hands-on experience in production and reservoir engineering, mentoring, and structured early-career development. Positions may be field or office based and include formal training, on-the-job learning, and mentorship.
What You’ll Do
Petroleum Engineers at this level contribute to asset development, production operations, reserves evaluation, uncertainty and risk management, and capital project support. Typical responsibilities include:
- Work on production and reservoir engineering assignments that add measurable value to operations
- Support asset development planning and production optimization efforts
- Analyze reservoir and production data to inform technical recommendations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geoscience, drilling, facilities, and data specialists
- Prepare technical reports, forecasts, and presentations for asset teams
- Participate in training, mentoring, and competency development programs
Who we’re looking for / Minimum qualifications
Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Students completing the final year of a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with less than two years of directly related work experience
- Strong academic performance in core engineering coursework
- Demonstrated communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem solving skills
- Valid driver authorization if the role requires routine driving
- Ability and willingness to demonstrate the client’s expected professional behaviors and ethics

Compensation & benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $118,000 annually to $138,000 annually. Exact compensation will depend on degree level, academic year, and selected role.
