The Personal Trainer/Fitness Assistant at Confidential Client is responsible for designing and leading individualized and small group training sessions tailored to clients' medical histories and fitness goals. This role emphasizes safety, client engagement, and contributing to the growth of personal training services within a medically integrated fitness center. What You’ll Do
As a Personal Trainer / Fitness Assistant for our confidential client you will deliver safe, effective, and personalized exercise sessions that help members reach their health goals. Typical responsibilities include:
- Lead individual, partner, and small-group training sessions for members with varied fitness levels
- Design and modify training programs based on client goals, medical history, and fitness assessments
- Train within the scope of your specialty certifications and follow industry best practices
- Identify and avoid contraindicated exercises; prioritize member safety at all times
- Schedule and respond to personal-training requests; manage bookings and follow-ups professionally
- Recommend new programming and services to grow the center’s personal training offering
- Maintain required certifications and complete continuing education as required
- Start and end sessions on time, minimize missed appointments, and communicate clearly with members
- Know emergency & safety procedures and confidently interact with EMS when required
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the center and membership experience
Qualifications
We encourage candidates who meet the core requirements below; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field (exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, or similar) required
- Nationally recognized NCCA-accredited Personal Trainer certification required
- CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (training provided by the confidential client)
- Prior experience as a personal trainer or relevant internship preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; service-oriented approach with members
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain professionalism under pressure, and use basic computer systems for scheduling and member notes
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed
Schedule & Location
- Position type: Part-time (evenings and weekends)
- Employment relationship: Contractor / Part-time
- Location: Onsite at the confidential client’s Roscoe, IL center (NorthPointe area)
- Compensation: $15.00 to $22.00 per hour
