Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Personal Financial Planner / Financial Advisor to join a growing Wealth Management team in Melville, NY. This role is ideal for a numerate, client-focused professional who wants hands-on training in financial planning, product recommendations, and client development. You’ll work directly with clients to craft personalized financial plans and support their long-term financial goals.


What You’ll Do

  • Customize financial plans based on each client’s work situation, life stage, and evolving needs.
  • Recommend appropriate products, plans, and investment strategies to help clients reach goals.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through ongoing communication and trust.
  • Prospect, network, and convert new clients to expand your book of business.
  • Collect and analyze client financial information to produce actionable recommendations.
  • Participate in team training and development to grow technical and advisory skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of the role of a financial advisor and an interest in financial products and wealth management.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and math/analytical skills.
  • Comfortable networking, prospecting, and developing client relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems, financial planning software, and Google Workspace is strongly preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63/66 licenses are a plus but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: $100,000 at plan yearly (estimated pay shown: $101,624 per year).
  • Opportunity for growth, commission/bonus potential, and structured training for new advisors.
  • Benefits vary by role and will be provided by Confidential Client at offer stage.

Location & Requirements

  • This position is based in Melville, NY (Long Island). Candidates must live in or near Long Island, Brooklyn, or Queens to be considered.
  • This is a full-time, in-office role with client-facing responsibilities.
