Responsibilities
The Personal Banker (SAFE Act) supports branch sales and client service activities to grow relationships, drive product adoption, and deliver an outstanding customer experience. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Work with business credit requests under $250,000; refer larger lending opportunities and cross-sell treasury and small business products.
- Build referral sources through Centers of Influence (COIs) and Member Get Member (MGM) programs.
- Assist in developing and executing sales strategies to grow a targeted book of business.
- Conduct outbound and inbound client calls to acquire new relationships and deepen existing relationships via cross-sell of relevant products and services.
- Coach tellers and branch staff on product features, special programs, and referral processes.
- Identify client transaction needs, educate clients on digital channels, and use marketing/technology tools to uncover opportunities and present financial solutions.
- Follow policies, procedures, and compliance requirements; assess risk appropriately and escalate control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of relevant experience; previous banking, retail, or sales experience preferred.
- NMLS registration; SAFE Act compliant.
- Knowledge of modern banking tools and digital channels.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
- Strong customer-focus, sales orientation, and ability to work collaboratively with branch teams.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Primary salary range (full-time): $50,600.00 - $70,600.00 per year.
- Estimated market median shown on source: ~$94,732 per year (for context).
- In addition to salary, eligible employees may receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
