The Role
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Personal Banker (SAFE Act / NMLS compliant) to join the Hastings Branch team in Pasadena, CA. This role focuses on building customer relationships, delivering excellent branch service, supporting sales activities, and identifying cross-sell opportunities for retail and small business clients.
What You’ll Do
- Work with business credit requests <$250K; identify and refer larger lending opportunities and cross-sell treasury and small business products.
- Build referral channels through Centers of Influence (COIs) and Member-Get-Member programs.
- Support strategies to grow small business and book-of-business customers with targeted sales plans.
- Deliver outstanding client service via outbound and inbound calls and in-branch interactions to acquire and deepen relationships.
- Coach and guide tellers and branch staff on product features, special programs, and appropriate client referrals.
- Recognize transaction and service needs, educate clients on digital and self-service channels, and leverage marketing/technology tools to surface relevant product offers and financial solutions.
- Follow policies, standards and procedures, assess risk appropriately, and escalate/report control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of relevant experience; previous banking, retail, or sales experience preferred.
- Knowledge of smart banking tools and digital channels.
- NMLS registration and SAFE Act compliance required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-focused with the ability to identify needs and present appropriate solutions.
- Sound ethical judgment and commitment to compliance with applicable laws, rules and internal policy.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
- Primary location full-time salary range: $58,190 — $81,210 per year.
- In addition to salary, eligible employees may receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
