Position overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Personal Banker (SAFE Act) to join the Fort Lee, NJ branch team. This role focuses on building and deepening consumer and small-business relationships through exceptional service, cross-selling, and community outreach. The role requires NMLS registration and Safe Act compliance.
Responsibilities
- Work with small business credit requests under $250,000 and refer larger lending opportunities to appropriate channels.
- Cross-sell treasury and related small business products to grow client relationships.
- Build referral sources through Centers of Influence (COIs) and Member-Get-Member programs.
- Execute outbound and inbound client outreach to acquire new relationships and deepen existing ones.
- Coach and support branch staff (tellers and others) on product offerings and special programs; make appropriate referrals.
- Identify client needs, educate on service and digital channels, and present product/financial solutions.
- Use available technology and marketing tools to uncover sales opportunities.
- Follow company policies, regulatory standards, and escalate control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years relevant experience; previous banking, retail, or sales experience preferred.
- NMLS registration and Safe Act compliance required.
- Familiarity with digital/smart banking tools and technologies.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to assess risk and act in ways that safeguard the organization, clients, and assets.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Compensation & benefits
- Primary location full-time salary range (Fort Lee, NJ): $61,280 — $85,520 per year.
- In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive incentive and retention awards and a benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, life/accident/disability insurance, and paid time off. Offerings may vary by jurisdiction, job level, and date of hire.
