Responsibilities

The Personal Banker (SAFE Act) at our confidential client is an entry-level branch sales role focused on building customer relationships, delivering excellent service, and driving appropriate product referrals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with small business credit requests under $250,000 and recognize/refer larger lending opportunities.
  • Cross-sell treasury and other small business products and services.
  • Build referral pipelines through Centers of Influence (COIs) and Member-Get-Member (MGM) programs.
  • Support strategies to grow small business clients and target Book of Business customers.
  • Acquire new relationships and deepen existing ones via inbound/outbound client calls and in-branch interactions.
  • Coach and advise Tellers and branch staff on products, special programs, and referral opportunities.
  • Educate clients on service and digital channels; leverage technology and marketing tools to identify opportunities and present financial solutions.
  • Follow company policies, standards, and procedures; appropriately assess and escalate risk and control issues.
  • Deliver a remarkable client experience while protecting the firm’s reputation and client assets.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years relevant experience; previous banking, retail, or sales experience preferred.
  • NMLS registration — SAFE Act compliant (required).
  • Familiarity with retail/branch banking platforms and Smart Banking tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; customer-focused.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (highly desirable for this location).
  • Ability to balance sales with compliance and risk-management responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (Primary Location Full Time): $61,280.00 – $85,520.00 per year.
  • In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive discretionary or formulaic incentive and retention awards.
  • Typical benefits may include medical, dental & vision coverage, 401(k), life/accident/disability insurance, wellness programs, and paid time off. Benefit offerings may vary by jurisdiction and job level.

  • Primary location: Bronx, NY (Fordham / Crotona Park area, ZIP 10460)
  • Time type: Full time
  • This role is in-branch (not remote). Local candidates or those able to commute to the Bronx location are preferred.
