Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level PCVD Process Engineer to join their semiconductor fabrication expansion in Idaho City, ID. This role is ideal for new college graduates (or those who graduated within the last 24 months) with a STEM degree who want hands‑on experience developing, optimizing, and sustaining PCVD (plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition) processes in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Support development, optimization, and sustainment of PCVD processes to improve product performance, yield, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Analyze process and manufacturing data to identify trends, investigate issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Process Integration, Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, and other engineering teams to meet production and technology goals.
  • Participate in process qualifications, experiments, and continuous improvement initiatives using statistical and engineering methodologies (SPC, DOE).
  • Use data analytics tools and scripting to evaluate process performance and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Explore and apply AI-assisted and agentic AI workflows to improve process monitoring, engineering productivity, and troubleshooting.
  • Document results, present findings, and communicate technical recommendations to stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Graduating before the start date or graduated within the last 24 months.
  • Foundational knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, materials science, or process engineering gained via coursework, research, internships, or co‑op.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills demonstrated through academic projects, laboratory work, or internships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co‑op, research, or lab experience in semiconductor manufacturing, microelectronics, nanotechnology, materials processing, or plasma‑enhanced deposition systems.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC), experimental design (DOE), process characterization, or data visualization.
  • Familiarity with programming/scripting or data analysis tools such as Python, JMP, MATLAB, SQL, or similar platforms.
  • Experience applying AI, generative AI, or AI-assisted tools for engineering, automation, or data analysis tasks.
  • Demonstrated leadership through student organizations, research teams, competitions, or project work.
