Payroll Data Analyst
The Payroll Data Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in payroll distribution and accounting within PeopleSoft HCM for a leading healthcare organization. What You’ll Do
This posting is for a Payroll Data Analyst (Senior-level responsibilities) supporting a healthcare-focused organization. The role centers on payroll distribution, commitment accounting, and PeopleSoft HCM operations. You will act as a subject matter expert to ensure payroll transactions are correctly distributed, reconciled, and posted to the General Ledger, and you'll partner closely with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert for PeopleSoft HCM Commitment Accounting and payroll distribution
- Process payroll distribution activities and generate payroll journals
- Perform complex reconciliations and validate data integrity across payroll and general ledger systems
- Lead system testing for enhancements, upgrades, and new feature implementations
- Manage data integrations, extracts, and reporting requests for payroll and finance teams
- Research, recommend, and implement process improvements and ERP optimizations
- Create and maintain process documentation, business requirements, and training materials
- Provide end-user support and training for payroll distribution and accounting processes
- Manage project plans, timelines, and status updates for payroll-related initiatives
- Participate in cross-training and provide team coverage as needed
Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with HCM systems (PeopleSoft preferred)
- Experience with PeopleSoft Commitment Accounting or comparable payroll/accounting systems
- Strong understanding of payroll distribution processes and general ledger integrations
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
- Experience gathering business requirements and documenting business processes
Plusses (Nice-to-Have)
- PeopleSoft FSCM (General Ledger) experience
- Project management certification
- Experience with system implementations, testing, and optimizations
- Training and end-user support experience
- Knowledge of audits and year-end close processes
- Graduate degree in Business or Public Administration
- Experience with business intelligence or ERP optimization initiatives
Day-to-Day
- Support system upgrades and implement new modules/features
- Resolve PeopleSoft functional issues and interface problems
- Lead system testing and validate payroll-to-ledger integrations
- Produce payroll-related reporting and analytics for finance partners
- Complete monthly payroll, TIAA, salary transfer, and reclass reconciliations
- Maintain critical payroll accounting data and controls
Compensation & Schedule
- Pay range: $45.00/hr – $49.00/hr (hourly)
- Conversion salary (estimate if hired permanent): up to $95,000
- Schedule: Hybrid (on-site Mon/Tue) — typical hours 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- This range is provided by our client. Your actual pay will be based on skills, experience, and other lawful factors.
