Payroll Coordinator
The Payroll Coordinator at Confidential Client supports payroll processing and basic accounting functions across multiple entities within a dynamic resort environment. What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Payroll Coordinator to support payroll processing and basic accounting tasks for a resort location in California. This is an entry-level to early-career, full-time role working closely with Finance, HR, and Treasury teams.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, including manual checks, voids, and payroll adjustments.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable employment tax laws.
- Collaborate with HR to research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and map general ledger accounts between HR/payroll systems and accounting.
- Support payroll system testing, upgrades, and implementations (e.g., Workday).
- Run and review audit and reconciliation reports to ensure payroll data accuracy.
- Complete data input for stop pays, direct deposit reversals, manual checks and other payroll corrections.
- Assist Treasury with bank reconciliations and wire/ACH setups for payroll and third-party benefit vendors.
- Perform bookkeeping and accounting tasks across multiple LLC entities (A/P, A/R).
- Assist with month-end close activities and preparation of financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Support intercompany transactions, audits, variance analysis, and ad hoc finance projects.
- Help maintain budgets and report operating metrics to internal stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2–3 years of related experience in payroll, accounting, or project coordination preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Familiarity with accounting and payroll software (examples: Microsoft Business Central / Dynamics 365, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Experience with payroll platforms (experience with Workday is a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent written and oral communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, seasonal/resort environment and managing multiple priorities.

- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages are a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- This is a full-time, year-round, non-exempt hourly role.
- The Confidential Client’s good-faith hourly pay estimate for this position is $27–$32 per hour, based on experience and location.

Confidential Client is a hospitality and residential operations organization serving a portfolio of resort and private-community locations. The role will be based at Confidential Client’s Lake Tahoe / Homewood-area location in California and will support operational finance across multiple legal entities.
