Role Overview
The confidential client is hiring an Experienced Associate-level Payer Operations & Transformation Consultant within its Business & Supply Chain Operations practice. In this client-facing consulting role you will help payer and health-services organizations improve operational performance, support transformation programs, and apply data-driven analytics and process improvement to deliver measurable outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Support client engagements across payer operations and health services transformation projects
- Assist in developing and implementing business transformation strategies and roadmaps
- Conduct market and operational research to inform recommendations and design solutions
- Apply business data analytics to measure performance, identify gaps, and prioritize improvements
- Participate in process improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma concepts, operational design)
- Collaborate with stakeholders across functions to align operational strategies with business objectives
- Support change management activities and communications to drive adoption
- Help define metrics, maintain quality standards, and produce deliverables for client review
- Assist senior staff with client-facing workstreams, presentations, and workshops
Qualifications (Must Have)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in operations, consulting, analytics, or a related area
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with business data to produce insights
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for client-facing interactions
- Willingness to travel (role may require up to 60% travel depending on client needs)
Preferred / What Sets You Apart
- Degree or coursework in Accounting, Analytics/Data Science, Business, Economics, Engineering, Health Administration/Public Health, Mathematics/Statistics, Operations/Supply Chain, or related disciplines
- Experience with payer operations, healthcare payers, or health plan processes
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and change management practices
- Experience using analytics tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python/R, or similar)
- Consulting experience or strong client-service orientation
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on teams and manage competing priorities
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $63,000 - $140,000 (actual compensation dependent on skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and applicable employment laws)
- Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus (where applicable)
- Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, retirement (401k), paid time off, holiday pay, and other standard employer-provided benefits. Specific benefits will be provided by the confidential client.
Location & Travel
- Primary location: Minneapolis, MN (55405) — hybrid or client-based assignments as required
- Travel: Up to 60% depending on engagement needs
