What You’ll Do

As a Pathology Technologist for Confidential Client in Prunedale, CA, you will develop core laboratory skills and support routine seed health and greenhouse activities under close supervision. This entry-level role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and adherence to quality procedures while providing opportunities to grow technical expertise in microbiology and chemistry.

• Provide support for laboratory and greenhouse operations
• Assist with basic routine seed health tests under close supervision
• Perform sample entry, data entry, data retrieval, and general computer work
• Prepare media, buffers, and reagents used in seed health testing
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment
• Follow lab safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of chemistry, math, and biology
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing techniques and demands
• Ability to perform routine and repetitious tasks for extended periods
• Comfortable working under time constraints and adjusting to seasonal workload surges
• Experience in plant pathology, controlled-environment labs, greenhouse, or field work is desirable but not required

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• On-site work in laboratory and greenhouse environments in Prunedale, CA
• May be required to work overtime, including some weekends and holidays
• Must be able to work with chemicals, pesticides, and other potentially irritating substances
• Required to wear protective equipment when necessary (lab coat, gloves, respirator, etc.)
• Able to stand or sit for several hours at a time (up to ~70% of the time)
• Able to lift light items (up to 50 lbs.)

• Hourly rate: $24–$26 per hour (visible range)
