What You’ll Do

Teach entry-level undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses on a semester basis, including but not limited to general education statistics, college algebra, quantitative reasoning, or trigonometry. Deliver face-to-face instruction, plan lessons, assess student learning, and provide timely feedback to support student success.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver clear, engaging in-person instruction for entry-level math and statistics courses.
• Develop course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with learning outcomes.
• Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
• Communicate with students, academic departments, and university staff using provided tools and systems.
• Maintain accurate records for attendance, grading, and student performance.
• Participate in activities that support student retention and success.

Minimum Qualifications

• Earned master’s degree in mathematics, OR
• Earned bachelor’s degree in mathematics plus a graduate degree in a related field by the time of appointment.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior college-level teaching experience or appropriate K–12 teaching certification.
• Proficiency with instructional technology and learning platforms (experience with WebAssign, MyLabsPlus/MyMathLab, and/or ALEKS is a plus).
• Experience teaching online or hybrid courses is desirable.

Work Schedule & Location

• Employment type: Part-time.
• Typical schedule: Monday–Friday teaching assignments.
• Location: Youngstown, OH. In-person instruction is required.

Compensation

• Estimated annual pay: $36,505 (estimated). Actual pay will depend on appointment and hours.

Physical Requirements

• This position is primarily sedentary as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor: tasks generally involve sitting and may require occasional walking or standing for brief periods.
