What You’ll Do
This early-career Outside Property Associate Claim Representative role provides structured training and hands-on experience handling 1st-party property claims. After a 9–12 month training program you’ll be prepared to manage claims independently and progress in claims handling.
- Participate in classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training covering insurance policies, claim processes, systems, and procedures.
- Review, investigate, and document 1st-party property claims under close supervision.
- Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.
- Learn to investigate and evaluate facts and documents (leases, contracts, by‑laws, etc.) to determine coverage and applicability.
- Establish scope of damages for buildings and contents and prepare written or computer-assisted estimates.
- Maintain timely, professional communication with customers, claimants, agents, and internal stakeholders.
- Keep accurate claim records in the claim management system.
- Embrace continuous learning and adapt to AI-driven tools, system upgrades, and digital transformation.
- Participate in the company Catastrophe Response Program as needed to support customers after major events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who We’re Looking For

- Bachelor’s degree preferred; internships or customer-service/insurance experience a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn claims software and estimating tools.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments.
- Customer-service orientation and basic conflict-resolution skills.
- Openness to continuous learning and new technology.
Must Have
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of customer-service experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory.
- Willingness to obtain required state adjuster license(s) within the company timeline.
- Ability to safely perform physical tasks required for inspections (see Additional Requirements).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $52,600 — $86,800 (annual). This is a nationwide market range; actual pay will depend on location, experience, and role level.

Location & Work Arrangement
- Remote role with field work across residential and commercial locations.
- Job services insureds and agents in the New York City area and throughout northern, central, and southern New Jersey.
- The selected candidate must reside in—or be willing to relocate (at their own expense) to—the assigned territory that includes Morristown, NJ and surrounding areas.

Additional Requirements & Physical Demands
- Acquisition and maintenance of required insurance license(s) and/or a UAS Remote Pilot Certification may be required by federal, state, or company policy. Licenses are generally expected to be obtained within the first months of employment with ongoing continuing education as mandated.
- Participation in the Catastrophe Response Program may require temporary deployment to other states following major events.
- This role requires access to and inspection of all areas of dwellings and structures. Tasks can be physically demanding and may include carrying and setting up ladders (approx. 38–49 lbs), walking on roofs, and entering tight spaces (attics, crawl spaces). Candidates must be capable of safely performing these duties when required.
