This posting describes a remote-first Outside Property Claim Associate role supporting insureds and agents in Tennessee. The position combines structured classroom and on-the-job training (9–12 months) with field work at residential and commercial locations. This is a full-time contract role with a nationwide salary range of $52,600–$86,800 annually. The selected candidate will be expected to reside in, or relocate at their own expense to, the assigned territory (this opening services insureds/agents in and around Memphis, TN).
What You’ll Do
- Complete structured training covering insurance policy interpretation, claim processes, systems, estimating tools, and customer service (virtual and classroom formats plus on-the-job training).
- Review, investigate and document 1st-party property claims under close supervision.
- Collect information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses and third-party vendors.
- Investigate and evaluate relevant documents (leases, contracts, by-laws) and determine coverage per policy terms.
- Establish accurate scopes of damage for building and contents losses and create written or computer-assisted estimates.
- Provide timely, professional communication to insureds, claimants, agents and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records in claim management systems.
- Learn and adopt new digital tools and AI-enabled processes; adapt to system upgrades and technology rollouts.
- Obtain and maintain required insurance license(s) and, where applicable, UAS Remote Pilot Certification per federal, state and client requirements (licenses typically required within three months of hire).
- Participate in the Catastrophe Response Program and be available for potential deployments to assist customers in other states.
- Perform physical inspections of properties as needed (see physical requirements below).

Qualifications & Skills
Preferred / Ideal
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Internship or prior work experience in customer service or insurance is helpful.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability and willingness to learn claims management and estimating software.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and strong customer service orientation.
- Good judgment and ability to make decisions within established authority.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Basic conflict resolution skills and openness to continuous learning, including digital/AI tools.
Must Haves
- High school diploma or GED and at least one year of customer service experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
Compensation & Location
- Salary range: $52,600 — $86,800 (annual). This is a nationwide market range; actual pay will be determined by factors such as role scope, location, experience, and credentials.
- Employment type: Full time, Contract.
- Remote-first with field work. LOCATION REQUIREMENT: This role services insureds/agents in and around Memphis, TN. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate at their own expense to the assigned territory.
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to access and inspect all areas of a dwelling or structure; may require carrying and setting up a ladder (approx. 38–49 lbs), walking on roofs and entering tight/awkward spaces (attics, crawlspaces).
- Participation in Catastrophe Response deployments may require travel and physically demanding field work.
- Acquisition and maintenance of required state insurance license(s) and/or UAS Remote Pilot Certification may be necessary.
