Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Outside Property Associate Claim Representative to join a remote-capable, field-focused claims entry program. This is an early-career, full-time role that includes structured training (typically 9–12 months), hands-on claim experience, and a pathway to independent claims handling. The role combines remote work from your primary residence with visits to residential and commercial locations and occasional deployment for catastrophe response.


Compensation & Location

  • Salary range: $52,600 – $86,800 per year (nationwide market range; actual pay will be set based on location, experience, and other factors)
  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Job location type: Remote / TELECOMMUTE with field work in and around Lake Grove, OR (97035) and potential travel for catastrophe response
  • Note: Candidates in pay-transparency jurisdictions should expect the posted range to satisfy applicable disclosure requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Actively participate in structured training (virtual, classroom, and on-the-job) covering insurance policies, claim processes, systems, and procedures.
  • Review, investigate, and document 1st-party property claims under close supervision.
  • Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party vendors.
  • Learn to analyze leases, contracts, by-laws, and other documents that may affect coverage and claim outcomes.
  • Establish accurate scopes of damage for building and contents losses and prepare estimates (written or computer-assisted).
  • Communicate professionally and timely with customers, claimants, and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate records in claim management systems.
  • Embrace continuous learning, including new digital tools and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Obtain and maintain required Insurance License(s) and, if applicable, UAS Remote Pilot Certification within required timeframes.
  • Participate in the Catastrophe Response Program (possible interstate deployment).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum: one year of customer service experience.
  • Previous internship or experience in insurance or customer-facing roles is a plus.
  • Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where state law requires.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); openness to learn claims management and estimating tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and effective decision-making within defined authority.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic conflict resolution skills; willingness to develop negotiation techniques.

Must Have

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year of customer service experience
  • Valid driver’s license

Physical & Other Requirements

  • This role requires access to and inspection of all areas of a dwelling or structure. The position is physically demanding and may require carrying, setting up, and climbing ladders (approx. 38–49 lbs), walking on roofs, and entering tight spaces (attics, crawl spaces).
  • Ability to safely climb ladders is required for catastrophe deployments.
  • Participation in the Catastrophe Response Program may require temporary travel and multi-state work.
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance license(s) and/or UAS Remote Pilot Certification may be required to meet federal, state, and client requirements.
