Position Overview

This confidential client is seeking an Outpatient Staff Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in an outpatient/primary care setting in Farmington, NM. This is a full-time contractor role with competitive pay ($71,216 - $130,085 per year) and opportunities to practice evidence-based, veteran- and patient-centered care.

What You’ll Do

As an Outpatient Staff Registered Nurse you will:

• Triage, assess and manage patient care in an outpatient setting
• Deliver nursing care that is safe, effective and aligned with best practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications and follow-up
• Document care, assessments and interventions in patient records
• Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice and professional development activities

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• English language proficiency is required for direct patient care roles
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse (RN) in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth (e.g., Puerto Rico) or the District of Columbia
• Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accreditation where applicable)
• Candidates in master’s bridge programs who have completed BSN-equivalent coursework may be eligible for temporary appointment while completing program requirements
• Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception: candidates who meet education requirements but are awaiting licensure may be appointed on a temporary basis while pursuing licensure (per policy)

Preferred / experience:

• Some primary care or outpatient nursing experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to continuous learning and evidence-based practice

Grade/level guidance (examples from qualification standards):

• Nurse I — Entry-level care; ADN or diploma required
• Nurse I, Level II/III and Nurse II/III — progressive experience and education required (BSN, MSN or advanced degrees and specialized experience as applicable)

Physical & Work Requirements

• Frequent walking and standing (up to 8 hours)
• Heavy lifting and carrying (45 lbs and over)
• Reaching above shoulder, repeated bending, straight pulling and pushing
• Use of fingers and both hands required
• Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination
• Hearing aids permitted
