What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an experienced Oracle Software Engineer II in Pasadena, CA to support Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) implementations, enhancements, and integrations at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. This role focuses on functional design, Oracle EBS configuration, PL/SQL development, performance tuning, and supporting financial modules.

  • Collaborate with the Lead Enterprise System Analyst to review and gather business requirements.
  • Perform fit-gap analyses and present implementation options.
  • Map current-state and future-state business workflows and recommend Oracle configuration updates.
  • Support implementation of approved functional designs and troubleshoot application issues through resolution.
  • Log and manage Oracle Service Requests and maintain functional/technical design documents.
  • Develop scalable Oracle SQL / PL/SQL (procedures, functions, packages, triggers) and update existing code.
  • Tune and optimize queries and database performance.
  • Build or retrofit interfaces, APIs, and data loaders; work with REST APIs where applicable.
  • Support custom extensions including Form Personalizations and Oracle Application Framework (OAF) components.
  • Support testing, user training, and produce bi-weekly status reports.
  • Diagnose system bottlenecks, debug functional/technical issues, and apply fixes.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree (per posting) or equivalent experience.
  • Must be a US Person or Permanent Resident.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting Oracle EBS customizations, reports, interfaces, conversions, and workflows.
  • Strong PL/SQL and SQL development experience; experience with performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience with Oracle EBS R12.2.x—implementation, upgrades, patching, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Hands-on with Oracle Financials modules (AP, PO, PA, FA, GL, SLA) and month-end/year-end financial close support.
  • Experience with Oracle Workflow, XML Publisher, Oracle Reports, Oracle Forms, Concurrent Programs, and Form Personalizations.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Application Framework (OAF), DFF/KFF, FNDLOAD, alerts, and AOL components.
  • Comfortable with tools such as Git, Informatica, OBIEE, Oracle APEX, SQL Developer, TOAD, and data extraction/wrangling tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with JIRA and GitHub.
  • Familiarity with OBIEE/integration to data warehouse solutions and custom data extractors.
  • Prior work supporting government or research organizations (helpful for JPL environment).

Logistics & Terms

  • Location: Onsite at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory — Pasadena, CA (must be onsite per contract).
  • Duration: 12-month contract (W-2) with potential to be extended or converted.
  • Work schedule: 9/80 schedule noted in posting.
  • Compensation: $40–$72 per hour (W-2 hourly rate; actual offer within range based on location, experience, and qualifications).
  • Offer contingent on ability to successfully pass background check and drug screen.
  • Employment type: Full-time (contract engagement per posting).
