Software Engineer - Oracle Integration
The Software Engineer at Confidential Client is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting secure and scalable integrations for Oracle HCM Cloud within the enterprise ERP system. This hybrid role involves working with Oracle Integration Cloud, Fast Formulas, and various integration technologies to connect internal applications, external vendors, and APIs, ensuring reliable data flow across HR, payroll, and talent acquisition systems. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, participation in the full software development lifecycle, and involvement in a 24/7 on-call rotation to maintain high availability and performance of integration solutions.

What You’ll Do
This is a hybrid Software Engineering role supporting Human Capital Management (HCM) integrations for a Confidential Client’s Oracle ERP and HCM platforms. You will design, build, deploy, and maintain secure, reliable, and scalable integrations between Oracle HCM Cloud and internal systems, external vendors, APIs, databases, and enterprise platforms.
- Develop and maintain Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) orchestrations, mappings, transforms, connections, and error-handling.
- Implement Oracle HCM Fast Formulas, HDL/HSDL loads, HCM Extracts, FBDI, and BIP templates as required.
- Build and consume REST and SOAP APIs; work with JSON, XML, SFTP and message payloads.
- Apply integration patterns, DevOps and CI/CD practices using tools such as Azure DevOps and Azure Pipelines.
- Monitor integrations, perform root-cause analysis using OIC logs and diagnostics, and resolve production issues.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and secure design artifacts.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in full SDLC activities — requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Join a 24/7 on-call rotation for production-support responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Design reusable, secure, and maintainable integration solutions for HCM processes (Core HR, Benefits, TA, Payroll).
- Implement data transformations, mappings, and orchestration logic in OIC and related Oracle tools.
- Automate deployment and support CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / Azure Pipelines).
- Troubleshoot integration failures, perform payload analysis, and implement durable error recovery.
- Ensure solutions comply with security, privacy, and data protection policies.
- Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field — OR Associate’s degree plus 2 additional years of relevant experience.
- 1+ years professional software engineering experience (internships count) OR 2+ years coding experience in a high-level language (Java, C#, C/C++, Go, etc.).
- Working knowledge of professional software engineering practices: source control, code reviews, build processes, testing, and deployment.
- Strong problem solving, time management, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Experience with modern application development frameworks and Agile methodologies.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and occasional on-site work as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with:
- Oracle Fusion Cloud Platforms
- Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC)
- Oracle Fusion HCM Fast Formulas
- Oracle HCM Data Loader (HDL) and HCM Extracts
- Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher (BIP), FBDI
- Oracle Web Services (SOAP/REST), Oracle SQL / PL/SQL
- Experience with Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines, cloud platforms (Azure or Google Cloud).
- Experience with high-availability distributed systems, analytics/BI, or healthcare systems.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Splunk, MFT tools (Cleo Harmony), or API gateways (Apigee).
- Oracle Cloud / Integration certifications are a plus.
Compensation & Schedule
- Compensation range (provided by client): $97,448 - $143,270 per year.
- Employment type: Full Time (Exempt).
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, typical hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; membership in a 24x7 on-call rotation required.
- This is a hybrid role and must be located within 100 miles of a Confidential Client campus for occasional on-site expectations based on business needs.
Location & Work Authorization
- Authoritative location: Rochester, MN (role must be within the stated commuting radius for hybrid on-site requirements).
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Confidential Client does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
