What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Opportunistic Assurance Staff or Senior to help assure the financial health of clients across audit and tax engagements. You'll partner with teams to deliver quality financial reporting, compliance, and tax solutions — and to craft business-focused recommendations beyond spreadsheets.
- Participate in different phases of audit and/or tax engagements
- Plan, test, research, and document audit and tax work
- Prepare and review compilations, reviews, compliance work, financial statements, and benefit plan audits
- Support corporate, partnership, individual, and multi‑jurisdictional tax work (federal, state & local, international)
- Communicate effectively with staff at all levels and with clients to resolve issues and provide value
- Identify process improvements and practical business solutions for clients
Qualifications
- Detail‑oriented leader with strong problem‑solving, communication, and analytical skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or Master’s degree in accounting or tax)
- Academic success (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0)
- Completion of required coursework/credits to sit for the CPA exam and a commitment to obtain CPA licensure
- Comfortable working in a primarily in‑person professional services environment with flexible scheduling by arrangement
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $75,000 — $100,000 (applies to openings in CO, IL, OH, and MA)

Location & Travel
- Primary location: Chicago Riverside Plaza (Chicago, IL). This role follows a principally in‑person model with flexibility to work with your supervisor and team to determine daily working arrangements.
- Position may require local, national, and occasional international travel.
