Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Operator, Take Up II for a manufacturing facility in Georgia (GA). This role works on coilers/spoolers (examples: Skaltec Coiler, Windak, CV Line) to change reels, support line operators, perform minor machine adjustments, and follow quality and safety procedures.
- Location: Georgia, GA
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (night shift)
- Employment type: Full-time
- Pay Rate: $22.68 – $24.11 per hour
What You’ll Do
This is a hands-on production role focused on setting up and operating coilers/spoolers and supporting continuous line operation.
- Assist operators with line setups and operation
- Set up and operate coiler/spooler equipment (Skaltec, Windak, CV Line)
- Change out reels of cable while maintaining line function
- Tag and label reels per the tagging system
- Make minor adjustments and basic repairs to machines
- Follow production orders to meet customer requirements
- Operate take-up equipment and assist line operator during runs
- May require operation of a forklift (Southwire forklift license may be required)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to read, write, and speak English (bilingual Spanish is a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and perform sustained physical work
- Comfortable standing and working in manufacturing environments (hot/cold)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safety procedures
- Willingness to cross-train and rotate within the workgroup
Safety, Quality & Training
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Perform pre-operation safety inspections and Job Hazard Analyses
- Maintain work areas to 5S standards
- Perform required quality checks and do not release product until checks pass
- Report quality issues immediately to supervision or quality manager
- Participate in cross-training to support coverage and skill proficiency
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Work in non-climate-controlled prefabricated buildings (hot/cold)
- Regular physical activity including climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing, standing, stooping, repetitive motions, and other manufacturing tasks
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $22.68 – $24.11 per hour (as posted)
